The Fighter Preview/Synopsis
December 17
Directed by David O' Russell ( Three Kings, Flirting With Disaster ) starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Melissa Leo, Jack McGee. Written by Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson. cinematography by Hoyte van Hetema ( Let The Right One In ) editing by Pamela Martin ( Little Miss Sunshine, Bubble Boy ) original music by Michael Brooks ( Into The Wild, Affliction )
The Fighter" is a drama about boxer "Irish" Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and his unlikely path to become world lightweight champion. Bale plays Dicky Eklund, Micky's half-brother and a talented fighter who once went the distance with Sugar Ray Leonard in a title fight but then turned to crime and landed in prison. Then he turned his life around and helped his underperforming brother find the spark for a remarkable run that led to the world title.
Rated PG-13 for language, some drug use and some violence.
Oscar chances ? Very strong possibilty for picture. Bale, Adams and Leo could land supporting nominations. Screenplay has an outside chance.

About Me
- No Bad Movies
- Started to really pay attention to film ( movies ) what was going on in front of the camera, but more interestingly, behind it as well at about as far back as age 10. Motion pictures ( when good ) are a fascinating medium. All the work and prep that goes into filmmaking. It's an amazing process !
