Everybody who visits this site knows by now how I detest remakes, save for the recent Coen brothers recent take on True Grit, as that isn't a straight across remake, it's more closer to the written source material ( book ) than the 1969 film was. But for the most part I think they are a waste of time and easy cash grabs for the vapid, chainstore mentallity of of movie going audiences.
Now Columbia Pictures has ponied up 200 million dollars for a remake of the Paul Verhoven directed and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone sci-fi cult classic, Total Recall.
Why ? You got me there. This time the studio is casting Colin Farrell as Doug Quaide.
I'll sit this version out thank you.
