Written by the team of Jackson and fellow Oscar winners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. Jackson adapts the popular Alice Sebold novel, about a 15 year girl, Susie Salmon who is raped and murdered in 1973. After her death, she finds herself in the " in between ", which is a place between heaven and earth, that lets her soul look down over her family and how they are coping with her passing and their loss. It's in this in between world that she gets the opportunity to observe what her killer is up to ( and planning to kill again ) as she struggles of having the desire to seek revenge on her killer or will she focus her attentions on her family healing from their loss.

Not yet rated. 139 min.

Oscar chances ? This film hasn't been screened yet but many have predicted some kind of nomination for Saoirse Ronan, whether it's lead or support as Susie. It's an Academy Award winning filmmaking team, so I would not be surprised if the film is well received critically, that it generates several nominations.

Started to really pay attention to film ( movies ) what was going on in front of the camera, but more interestingly, behind it as well at about as far back as age 10. Motion pictures ( when good ) are a fascinating medium. All the work and prep that goes into filmmaking. It's an amazing process !
