It's been a few years now that iconic director Steven Spileberg has been wanting to make the autobiography of Abraham Lincoln. But every time he tried to push the project forward, something delayed it and put it on the back burner. Many were wondering if he'd ever really get the film off the ground.
Well, the waiting is only going to be a little bit longer as he has his actor to play the 16th President and date for the scheduled filming for his film, Lincoln.
Two time Academy winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis has been chosen to star in a script written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tony Kushner ( Angels In America, Munich ) based from best selling novel by Debra Kearns Goodwin's Team Of Rivals. Filming will begin in the fall of 2011.
The film is to concentrate on the road to abolition of slavery and the end of the Civil War. Spielberg is looking to release the film at the end of 2012.
