R.I.P. Jill Clayburgh- April 30, 1944- November 5, 2010
Unfortunate news that stage and film actress Jill Clayburgh, lost her 20 plus years battle with leukemia, passing away yesterday at her Lakeville, Connecticut home with her family by her side.
Over the last 20 years or so, she may have not been the leading actress she once was in the late 70's and early 80's, but she stayed very busy nonetheless. Some will lament that she is the best thing about Running With Scissors ( 2006 ). She earned an Emmy nomination in 2005 for her guest starring role in Nip/Tuck. She also never abandoned her roots and worked on Broadway throughout her career.
She was a 4 time Golden Globe nominee and was twice Oscar nominated for Starting Over ( 1980 ) and An Unmarried Woman ( 1979 ) Some of her best work other than the Oscar nominated roles, was also in Semi-Tough opposite Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson, Silver Streak along side Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder, portraying Carole Lombard in Gable and Lombard and great work in Luna and The First Monday In October.
She can be seen this month in Ed Zwick's Love and Other Drugs as Anne Hathaway's mother, and she recently wrapped the romantic comedy Bridesmaids that will open on May 23, 2011. Obviously she worked through her sickness. She will be missed.

About Me
- No Bad Movies
- Started to really pay attention to film ( movies ) what was going on in front of the camera, but more interestingly, behind it as well at about as far back as age 10. Motion pictures ( when good ) are a fascinating medium. All the work and prep that goes into filmmaking. It's an amazing process !
