Flight of The Conchords director James Bobin, is well underway with his new Muppets movie simply titled The Muppets. Some may be surprised by this, but actor Jason Segel helped co-write the screenplay along with Forgetting Sarah Marshall scribe and director Nicholas Stoller.
The premise has Kermit the Frog and the Muppets trying to come up with a plan to stop their theater from being closed down. Starring along side Muppets such as Miss Piggy, Fozzie the Bear, Beaker, Animal, Rizzo Rat, Swedish Chef, Gonzo, Sam the Eagle, Dr. Bunson Honeydrew, Rowlf the Dog and Statler and Waldorf are actors Segel, Amy Adams, Rashinda Jones, Chris Cooper, Charles Grodin and Rachel Ray. Other cameos rumored are Jack Black, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Crystal, Alan Arkin, Jean Claude Van Damme, Danny Glover, Danny Trejo, Barbara Eden, French Stewart, Sean Penn, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
