Jon Hamm will be having another good year on the small and big screen, as he has a lot on his plate for this and next year, with the premier of the fourth season of Mad Men this Sunday evening, and also other projects he has coming up in the near future.
Many by now already know he is going to play Ben Affleck's nemesis detective in The Town, out this year, but I haven't heard too many people talking about another film he will be in coming to theaters on March 3 2011, as Hamm will be playing a baddie character by the name of High Roller, for director Zack Snyder in the film Sucker Punch. Also starring with him in the film are Emily Browning, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Michael Jai White and Scott Glenn. The film is based and was written by Snyder ( Watchman, 300 ) and is set in the 1950's and follows Babydoll ( Browning ) who's confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who he intends to have a lobotomy done on her in 5 days.
While she spends her days institutionalized, Babydoll imagines an alternative reality to hide from her pain she is experiencing, where in this new world she begins to plan her escape from those who intend to harm her.
Many people that have read the script say it's right up there with what you'd expect from a Zack Snyder film. It will definitely have it's fan base and will probably do well domestically in earnings at the box office.
