Spielberg shelves Lincoln and Redford making his own

After what was years of Steven Spielberg's Lincoln project in " announced " status, the famed director has decided to shelve the project for now, thus allowing Robert Redford to take a stab at his own Lincoln based motion picture.

Redford's take will carry The Conspiritor moniker. The story is about a woman, Mary Surratt ( Robin Wright Penn ), who was charged as a co-conspirator in Abraham Lincoln's assassination. In order for her life to be saved, she will have to rely on a reluctant attorney ( James McAvoy ) The film is being lensed by Newton Thomas Sigel, ( whose past films include Valkyrie, Three Kings and X-2 ) rounding out the cast is Evan Rachel Wood, Justin Long, Kevin Kline, Tom Wilkinson, Toby Kebbell and Alexsis Blendel.
