Directed by Christopher Nolan ( The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Insomnia ) Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy, Lukas Hass, Tom Berenger, Pete Postlethwaite, Dileep Rao. Written by Nolan, cinematography by long time Nolan collaborator Wally Pfister, editing by Lee Smith ( Master and Commander ) and original score by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer ( Gladiator )
This sci-fi/thriller is epic in scope and budget ( 200 million ) with it's main premise about a team of specialists who can infiltrate the dreams of other people to gain ideas for profit. But not everything in these tasks are easy. In an attempt at redemption they take on one more job, instead this plan will not be " stealing " a dream, but instead " planting " one. Every step of the way though they seem to be side stepping an enemy that is right on their tracks.
Rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action throughout. 148 min.
Oscar chances ? Plenty. This could possibly be the nomination leader of the year. It may not receive any acting nods, but I could see it's chances in almost every other category. Many tech nominations will get noticed.
