Directed by Best Film Short ( Two Soldiers ) Oscar winner Aaron Schneider, starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek, Lucas Black, Scott Cooper and Gerald McRaney. Written by Chris Provenzano ( Mad Men, Justified ) Cinematography by David Boyd ( Kitt Kittredge ) Editing by Schneider and Original Score by Oscar winner Jan A.P. Kaczmarek ( Finding Neverland )
Get Low is part folk tale, fable, and real life legend, about a mysterious 1930's Tennessee hermit Felix Bush ( Duvall ) who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party while he was still alive.
Rated PG-13 for thematic elements and brief violent content. 100 min.
Oscar chances ? Very good for Duvall with many predicting an Oscar nod for Best Actor. Murray and Spacek have good chances in the supporting category as well. Good possibility for screenplay.
The film, as well as the performances were well received at last years Toronto Film Festival. As of now, the film has been reviewed by 26 critics with a 100% approval rating.
