January will see the filming commence in Los Angeles on the popular Marvel comic book character Thor, with Kenneth Branagh ( Frankenstien, Much Ado About Nothing ) helming and the film seeing a May 2011 theatrical release.
Fairly unknown 25 year old Chris Hemsforth has signed onto the role and winning it over much seasoned and well known actors than him. Hemsforth might be remembered best from his role portraying James T. Kirk's father in Star Trek. The rest of the casting is rounded out by Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Dominic Cooper and Colm Feore. I'm pretty sure like with Iron Man, Thor will also be heavily anticipated.
