Sherlock Holmes Preview/Synopsis
Sherlock Homes Dec. 25
Directed by Guy Ritchie ( Snatch, RocknRolla ) Starring Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Eddie Marsan, Kelly Reilly, James Fox. Written by Michael Robert Johnson and Anthony Peckham ( Don't Say A Word, Invictus ) Cinematography by Oscar winner Philippe Rousselot ( A River Runs Through It ) Editing by James Herbert ( RocknRolla ) Original Music by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer ( Gladiator, The Lion King )
This version of Sherlock Holmes is set in 1891 and Holmes and his true ally, Watson, are on high alert in stopping a conspriracy to destroy all of Britain. This movie it's a different type of Holmes. A new, updated version. One that reveals lethal fighting skills along with high intellect. Mark Strong will play his evil nemesis Blackwood.
Rated PG-13 for action violence and thematic material. 139 minutes.
Oscar chances ? Possible in the cinematography and art direction categories. This looks more like a " fun " type of picture than awards worthy...though if the film is well recieved by critics and does good numbers at the box office, I don't think it would be entirely out of the question if it squeezed in as one of the ten that get nominated for Best Picture.

About Me
- No Bad Movies
- Started to really pay attention to film ( movies ) what was going on in front of the camera, but more interestingly, behind it as well at about as far back as age 10. Motion pictures ( when good ) are a fascinating medium. All the work and prep that goes into filmmaking. It's an amazing process !
