Rated R for gangster violence and language. 143 min.

Oscar chances ? Looks like it could be a Oscar type of movie with all assembled, but I'm feeling more of a summer popcorn movie. Many who have screened it say Cotillard's performance is electric and the best of the whole film. If it did stand any chances for Oscar attention, I'd say you can never count Johnny Depp out. Possibles for Art Direction, Editing and Cinematography. If Billy Crudup really engulfs himself as Hoover, he could be a possibility in Supporting Actor.

This should be good but I don't think it's going to be Oscar worthy though. It has summer popcorn look going for it. But that doesn't mean it will suck. I just keep hearing a lot of people saying Depp should get an Oscar nomination for his Dillinger portrayal. Hold your horses. If he doesn't get a Oscar nomination, doesn't mean it won't be a good movie. Plus, the premise has always been a fascinating one of true stories. Many people thought of John Dillinger as a hero.

I don't think it's going to be Oscar material either. I think it will be a entertaining movie though.

About Me

My photo
Started to really pay attention to film ( movies ) what was going on in front of the camera, but more interestingly, behind it as well at about as far back as age 10. Motion pictures ( when good ) are a fascinating medium. All the work and prep that goes into filmmaking. It's an amazing process !
