Many recently caught the HBO movie special Saturday night on HBO, You Don't Know Jack directed by Barry Levinson ( Rain Man, Wag The Dog ), about Doctor Jack Kevorkian with Al Pacino as the so called " Dr. Death ".
The film has received positive reviews from the likes of Variety, Entertainment Weekly, The Boston Globe, The New York Times and USA Today to name just several media outlets.
Also, as with any positive word of mouth about a film or it's performance, many award prognosticators are lamenting that Pacino is a shoe in for The Emmy, Globe and SAG award for best actor in a movie or mini series, for leaving his usual Pacino-isms at the door, and instead going for a understated performance.
The supporting cast of Susan Sarandon, John Goodman, Danny Huston and Brenda Vaccaro have also received kudos.
HBO will feature repeat showings of the film in the future.
